Well, that's two SNAFUs in a row, albeit for different reasons: Last
round's was technical. This time, your dealer wasn't paying attention when
a player submitted a def publicly; two players noticed the repeat when the
list appeared. Then, we found we'd lost another player's (privately
submitted) def entirely.

As noted below, we've made some arbitrary decisions (the dealer can DO
that) in an attempt to remedy the situation.

Lessons for all of us as future dealers: (1) Pay attention to "from" lines
and make sure you don't use defs that have been posted publicly. (2) Do not
lose properly submitted defs.

In any case, the next dealer, with a fairly and squarely won natural score
of 6 for his dessication def (#5), is Mike Shefler; the very close
runner-up, with five points for his archaic book(s) (#8), is Dave
Cunningham. One player, Tim Lodge, picked the real def, #11.

It's all yours, Mike--and good luck! Me, I'm going out to play.

*Paul's def was posted publicly, but I didn't notice (neither did anyone
else, apparently) and failed to so advise him so that he could send a
replacement privately; two players DID notice when the list appeared.
Earlier, I'd concluded that the votes for his def shouldn't be counted, and
I awarded him two dealer points. I've changed my mind; the two who voted
for his def were clearly unaware of its earlier appearance, or they'd have
picked something else. But because others--including one of those who
recognized the repetition (the other also recognized the real def and was
DQ)--might have voted for it, my oversight earns him the promised dealer
points as well.
