OK! Vote early and vote often... nah... just vote for TWO.

Here are 17 definitions for you to choose from, one of which is the real one... please vote for TWO by

Aug. 20, Wednesday evening at 7pm EDT, that's 4pm Pacific time, and after midnight Over There.

Newcomers welcome, but no peeking at dictionaries!

1. a herd of wild horses.

2. a temporary corral for circus horses.

3. a Spanish gypsy dance with sudden tempo and mood changes

4. a hardwood timber obtained from Intsia species, principally in
Indonesia and Melanesia

5. a purported tenet of the code of the Cosa Nostra, mandating revenge
for harm or disrespect to any associate.

6. a food fish of the South Atlantic, Remuda remuda, having sweet white
flesh.

7. any of several large marine spiny-finned game fish of warm waters:
family _Scombridae_.

8. [Timuacuan] the American Crocodile (_crocodilis acutus_)

9. a type of eel

10. one who continually vacillates [Lat. _mutare_ to change]

11. a roundworm fish parasite _ Phocanema decipiens_, also known as cod
worm.

12. a clay box in which pottery is packed for baking.

13. a slogan and policy of the defunct Japanese Rainbow and Greens (Niji
to Midori) party that would have imposed an obligation on
manufacturers to make packaging from 100% recycled materials and to
accept back free of charge all packaging and worn-out product for
disposal [J. re-muda 'zero waste']

14. _Archaic_ A light shield or buckler.

15. In Islam, the period of prayer and purification for women before
marriage, lasting five days.

16. a supply of remounts. [Sp., exchange]

17. a bamboo flute.

Lots of animals!

I think, this time, I'm going with the first and the last, just because
they're both so utterly unlikely. That's #1 and #17.

I will probably regret ignoring the plants and animals but instead I'm
putting my money on:

3. to suit my sudden mood changes; and

14. because it seems so eminently practical to have something that
not only deflects light sabres but also does up your sandals

I sort of like 5 and 7 (not that I believe them, mind you).

Were you intending to vote twice? In your first message you voted for 3
