I don't think this one has to go to the Supreme Court. ;-)

Dodi, what do you mean--the vote was unconstitutional--only 17 people
voted--alot probably didn't have adequate notice that a vote was taking
place! Regards, Len, the sorehead!]

Everyone keeps saying this... is corypaheus a PUBLIC
group? I thought we had to be added... can anyone
read what we say?

Toni,

It's not a public group. You do have to be added. But it's possible for
people to post (via email) without being members.

It wasn't originally set up that way. We had to let non-members post
because otherwise some messages forwarded from tapcis.com would bounce.
This happens if a player's email address on tapcis.com is different from
the one they give Yahoo. This is true for some players.

If a non-member posts, that message has to be moderated before anyone
but a moderator sees it.

Non-members can read messages. This is not a bad thing. People reading
the messages might want to join the game. But when a non-member reads
the messages, the email addresses in those messages are truncated. So,
for example, the message that Dan is complaining about looks like this
to non-members:

POLL QUESTION: Some players would prefer a longer deadline for submitting
definitions and/or voting than the current 24-36 hours
specified in Da Rules, in order to account for the added
delays in email delivery and daily digests. This would
allow more players to submit definitions and/or vote, but
also would reduce the number of games completed in a given
timeframe.

Would you prefer to keep the current 24 to 36 hour
timeframe, or extend the deadlines to 36 to 48 hours?

CHOICES AND RESULTS
- Keep the existing 24 to 36 hours, 10 votes, 58.82%
- Extend the deadlines to 36 to 48 hours, 6 votes, 35.29%
- Extend the deadlines to over 48 hours, 1 votes, 5.88%

INDIVIDUAL VOTES
- Keep the existing 24 to 36 hours

For those who read via the archive, yes.

For those who read The Parlor section at www.tapcis.com, the email
addresses are displayed in full, although at least they are not readable
by harversters, since the @ is replaced by (AT) and the period in the
extensions by (DOT). And I doubt spammers go around actually *reading*
the tapcis.com site to try to harvest email addresses. :)

As for me, my address is already on numerous spam lists already, so it
doesn't matter too much...
