As some have wisely pointed out, both here and privately, I really
should have combined 5 (from Mike Shefler) and 8 (from Mr Chambers).
But then what about 9 and 13 which were both very close. So I left
them; next time I’ll do it better I hope.

I considered adjusting the scores to compensate for this but then
figured that would only add to the confusion and any difference in
final scores would be minimal. I have however sent 2 dealer points to
Tim B because I accidentally truncated his original definition.

So the final result is a three-way dead heat with 4 points each to
Toni Savage, Dave Cunningham and the dealer. Toni has a natural 4 and
so gets to be the next dealer, leaving Dave as the real winnah and the
dealer standing in the corner.

I'm surprised that our ever-alert players and scorers have not yet
picked me up on the final line of my results, that is the curious
arithmetic of 0+0=2 in Nancy Shepherdson's score.

Due to the equivalence of defs 5 and 8 I thought I should count either
(but not both) as being the true def. Then I got confused and gave up
but not before the totals slipped in. As it turned out, Nancy was the
only player affected so to resolve this anomaly now I am belatedly
awarding her 2 points. Call it for the real def or call it dealer
points, I'll leave that to the statisticians to decide.

Apologies for the confusion

Jim
