Dear Dixons

Johnny Barrs asked me to send this. Due to totally unforseen and emergency circumstances he is not opposite a computer and the current round. \\\\\\\\he asked me to send "Please would you allow a 24 hour delay on his publishing the results of the current round"

Pascal

Well, we don't have much option, do we? We can hardly insist...!

Thanks, Pascal, for your intervention. A known problem is much less
troublesome than an unknown one. Welc0me to the group, however briefly.

Regards

Well, we could try to score the round ourselves. For example, based on
votes, we can deduce that the either the author of #15 or #16 is the next
dealer.

But I'll wait 24 hours. It's the weekend anyway!

So will the author of 15 or 16 post a word? You obviously know who you are,
and which of you is Da Winnah ...

I don't think it's all that obvious, Paul. Most players,
I'll wager, don't compulsively tally votes throughout
the round. Let's wait the requested 24 hours, eh. As
oft observed: It's only a game!

Only if that author is both ahead in the rolling scores and voted correctly
can he/she make that determination alone. If that author didn't vote
correctly, or is behind in the rolling scores and did vote correctly, they
need information from the other said author.

And by the time they coordinate this, JohnnyB might be back...

I am the author of 15 and I believe that the corn salad is the true
definition but I may be wrong. I didn't vote for the corn salad, so if
it is indeed the true definition, I have just the 7 votes for my own.

I don't know who created definition 16 and whether that person voted for
#1 (or whatever the real definition is).

I'm willing to wait for Johnny's return, and I hope that the emergency
has a successful resolution!

We can always revisit the situation tomorrow (Sunday).

well, we can at least make a fun diversion out of finding out who it is, while we wait... I agree that a day is not long to wait for the real answer...
