OK! Dodi has fiddled and foraged her way to the deal!
Congrats with a 5, Dodi!
Tim Lodge and Scott Crom get "real winner" status,

And Johnny Barrs was the only one to divine that a
FIDDLEY is the iron grating
around a hatchway! At least he did it first thing, so
I wasn't on tenterhooks the whole time.

Not that it matters, but I voted for #9 and #14 on Tuesday at 9:12 AM.
I do not see my votes. Did you not receive my message?

Frances, I saw your vote--wish you had voted for me. I think the
problem is you missed the deadline as you yourself point out--here's a
quote of your message:

"Boohoo. Looks like I missed the deadline, but I'll cast my votes
anyway. #9, because it just sounds impossible and #14 because it
doesn't. Frances Wetzstein"

Dang! I was sure I counted right... yes, I see your
votes in my text file, but just skipped them in
recording.

Sorry... votekeeper?? John B and Dodi each get one
more vote!
