View Full Version : [Dixonary] OT: I'm back! (sort of)

Thanks, Dixonarians, for all the good wishes! They're really helping,
through the dreary and sometimes discouraging rehab I'm into now and will
continue in the weeks ahead.

And apologies to those who were really worried. I should have sent word,
somehow, sooner.

Yes, the surgery went well, and there were no infections or other
complications. The problem now is "just" getting all those traumatized
muscles and such to return to routine function and get me walking normally
again. I'm doing my best, and so is the physical therapist who comes around
three times a week.

Meanwhile, my time online will be somewhat limited. Though I was home from
the hospital five days post-op, there's a many-weeks period during which
where, how, and on what, one can sit is limited--all to assure the
integrity of the newly retrofitted joint. It wasn't until yesterday that I
rigged a permissible perch of sorts at my desk and managed to get online
and start coping with the overflowing mailbox.

As things progress, I'll try to participate as much as possible....

Again, thank you all!

Welcome back. Type to us when you're up to it, and rest if you're not.
I'm just glad there were no complications.

Well, well, hello, Dodie. It's so nice to have you back where you belong!

OK, I stole that from "Hello, Dolly." Sue me.

It is really great to see your pixels again.

All my love and best wishes,

Curm

I'm glad you're back, and also glad that nothing bad happened and you're
"just" dealing with getting back to normal! I'm sure the physical
therapists will help a lot. It will be work, but you'll do it!

Dodi:

It sounds as though you are doing GREAT! I'm so happy to hear that. My aunt just had a hip replaced, so we're familiar with the "drill." <G>

Keep up the good work!!

Welcome back! Rehab can be discouraging, but it does work, of course! I've had some improvement in my shoulder even two years later, so keep at it!
