Rubber Game. After Moose did what most 39 year-old pitchers do (give up 4 runs in a 5-2 loss) in game 2, in game 3 the young guns did it once again. This time Huuuuugggghhhheees (the new cry of the bleacher creatures) went 6 innings, two runs, followed by Traber, the leftie specialist who did what he was supposed to do, get out left-handed hitters, then Bruney retired the next two batters and suddenly we are at the 8th inning. Chamberlin, zero runs. Ninth inning, Mo, zero runs and the Yankees won 3-2.

This looks like a very interesting season and the new "Joe" is playing small ball big time and winning with it (so far)!

Judy,

As you say, most definitely correct... particularly after Ian Kennedy's meltdown (along with the late inning relief pitchers).

Judy,

And Andy wasn't Dandy today, losing 6-3. Went five and with errors at first base from Shelly Duncan, well...not the best day. Rusty and a short pitch count and no hitting yet from this team. Nobody's hot it seems.

SIGHWe absolutely cannot survive this season with only Wang-Chamberlain-Rivera as a working team. Then again we did beat Toronto 2 of 3, and the Red Sox have lost three in a row to them. And what in the name of all that's holy is going on in Baltimore???? Is the whole team on steroids?

Judy,

Well, today that was the winning ticket (once again)!

Wang won today 2-0, went 6 innings, 4 hits, 2bb, 8 Ks
and Chamberlin went 2 innings (yeah), no hits, 1 K
and Mo went 1 inning, no hits and 2 Ks.

YES!

As for Baltimore, time will tell if they are for real this year or not. I remmber them as a major competitor, just like Beantown, but they have fallen on hard times in recent years.

Judy,

Did you see what Joba did in this game?

(I don't have cable right now, so am relying on print media). Sounds amazing.

"Chamberlain, who warmed up in a hurry after Floyd's hit, struck out Aybar on three pitches: 77-mph curve, 101-mph fastball, 85-mph slider."

Three out pitches!

Did you see what Joba did in this game? He's a truly remarkable pitcher... meaning one that even Boss George wouldn't try to trade for a "sure thing"...

Or perhaps Boss Hank!
