...

Next time you want a fizz hit, try seltzer with lime (or for a caffeine fix, green tea). What are your favorite low-cal soda substitutes?

Ok, I give up. I admit that I'm addicted to soft drinks too.

Maybe somehow I can wean myself onto water and tea. Maybe if I buy loose tea (not so easy to find in grocery store anymore) I can distract myself by reading tea leaves.

Favorite low-cal soda substitute: Gerolsteiner sparkling mineral water. Most of the stores in the area only carry it in quart bottles, but there is one that offers 6-packs of half-liter bottles, which is a much more convenient size. The fizz makes it more satisfying than plain water.

I like Gerolsteiner better than Perrier, and much, much, much better than the Dannon product, which is (as I recall) artificially carbonated.

Trader Joe's stores in this area sell it, and one can buy it by the case.
