35 hours from now.

Enjoy!

1. To walk purposefully.

4. Acronym: Earth Leakage Breaker.

5. Clockwork model of the solar system.

6. [Ger.] Rapids, as of a river. [_Elbe_ q.v.]

7. A false spring; unusually warm late-winter weather.

Great definitions -- tough choices!

I'll go with clothing:

<< 16. A linen covering for a woman's head, throat, and chin
<< worn
<< in medieval times.

<< 17. A white ecclesiastical robe, similar to a cassock but with
<< a
<< hood incorporated.

8 and 15 -- none is right.

A tough one; seems to be no etymological clue at all (I don't buy the river
connection). My wild guess, based only on a probably misguided process of
elimination: #14 and #16.

PS: "8:00 pm Eastern time, tomorrow morning, Thursday 22"?

I THINK you meant tomorrow EVENING. And Thursday's the 21st.

Up all night watching your state's primary returns?

It's almost baseball season so I'll take a spring pitcher, 7 and 8.

What a good list! I'll go for the child held in contempt and the pole
arm, because I don't know what a polearm is!

3 and 11 please.

12 and 17 please for a notch on the robe

- who missed a couple of rounds last week, still not really back in
the rhythm I guess

I'll take 7, which is to be hoped for and 16, which sounds vaguely
right.

1 and 8 seem unlikely.

The very popular 8 and 16 seem especially doubtful.

Scott -

This is quite a varied selection. I'll try:

2. The jujube _Zizyphus jujuba_.

and

16. A linen covering for a woman's head, throat, and chin worn in
medieval times.

Thanks,

Chuck

Although I've never seen it called that, I'll go for the acronym (I
know, they're NEVER the real one), and the double lipped pitcher.

That's #4 and #8 for me, please.
