It might be interesting to find out where ALL the Dixonarians are, no? I
think I know most--but I was obviously wrong about Dave, who I was pretty
sure was in or near Miami.

We now know where all three Floridians are.

I'm here in Manhattan.

Where are YOU?

Not *too* wrong, as Ft. Lauderdale isn't far from Miami. We will be staying in Miami so we can visit my uncle in Ft. Lauderdale. (We're traveling with my aunt and uncle who have friends in Miami with whom they will stay -- and we will stay at a hotel next door.)

Dodi, you know where I am. I am not vain enough to think very many people
care where I am, but if there is someone out there who does:

I'm in San Bernardino, CA. This is an exurb of Los Angeles, about 60 miles
east of L.A. My house is 1/4 mile or so south of the point where the
Transverse Range abruptly arises. Almost every mountain range in the
Americas extends north and south. The Transverse Range is the only east to
west range, thus its clever name. I live about 3/8 mile south of the San
Andreas Fault. We recently had a 4.7 earthquake which wasn't on the San
Andreas. Today is the first day in a month when the temp didn't exceed
100F. In the past year we've had less than 6" of rain, about 1/2 normal.

Monterey, California, home of Cannery Row (among other things). At least
for the next 7-9 months. Then who knows where I'll be?

But Dave isn't in Ft. Lauderdale, Judy; BILL is. Dave's in Ormond Beach,
which is nowhere near Miami (but very close to Dayton). ;-)

Yes, very interesting.

I'm in the UK, at Bray, near Windsor. It's where the Vicar in the
song came from (despite the 1937 film with Stanley Holloway which was
wrongly set in Bray in Ireland).

I have a feeling we did this exercise before - about 12 years ago! I
guess some people may have moved since then. I've probably got it
archived if I can find the right floppy. I found a print-out of
players birthdays from 1995, but not locations.

Hi everyone

I guess you all know I'm in UK - Near Petersfield - middle of the South Coast about 20 miles inland: Historic places like
Winchester, Portsmouth and Southampton are 20-30 minutes away by car and London about an hour by train

Hm. I don't recall that. Of course we've got a different group of people
now, though (some overlap, of course).

I DO remember THAT--and the fact that I shared a birthday (though not the
year) with another player (can't recall her name, but she left the game
several years back).

Hardly the wilds - 15 mile north of Pittsburgh - a typical suburbia.

I Hemel Hempstead, which is a smallish (~80k people) town
just north of Watford and a few miles west of St Albans,
about 25 miles north-west of London (England). We've lived
here since 1973.

Oh! Does it have a name? Maybe I can find it in my atlas...

Or if it's too small to be on the map: Is it near something that might be
there?

I was wondering what Tilting was: perhaps jousting, or some sort of
acrobatics? However, Google has told me it's a town on Fogo Island,
which is a bit disappointing!

I always thought they should have a sign "Eat at Venus on your way to Mars."

We left Los Angeles in 2002 and moved to the high desert, Victorville to be exact. After a year our house had doubled in price, so we sold, bought property and had our "dream house" built. We are now on the other side of the Transverse Mountains that Wayne described, in the undeveloped area called Lucerne Valley. By "undeveloped" I mean that the nearest McDonalds and Starbucks are over fifteen miles away. We're east of Victorville and Apple Valley on CA Rt. 18.

Tim -

It's not a disappointing town at all. It's beautiful with pristine air,
water, and breezes fresh off the Atlantic. The derivation of the name
is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps the excellent natural harbour was once
used for cleaning keels or repairs. Next town up the road (Tilting
being at the end of the road) is Joe Batt's Arm.
