<< The party was a surprise and a great success.

Glad to hear it was a surprise . . . and a great success. Congrats!!

Well, I'm going to go with animals . . . but I have to decide which ones. <G>

Okey:

<< 7. 1. A kind of serpent. 2. A kind of fish mentioned by
<< ancient
<< writers.

<< 14. A small, nonvenomous snake of eastern Africa.

9, for the sheer audacity of it.

And 17 to prove I read to the end, and because it doesn't sound like a real
def, thus it must be true.

13 because someone spent a lot of time typing it, and
17 because Scots defs are sometimes right.

Happy birthday, Chuck!

I don't believe any of them, but I guess I disbelieve those apparently
mythical animals least, so I'll go with #6 and #7.

<< the next dealer, the winner of round 1838, Judy
<< Madnick, whose definition
<< "Knob at top of a deer's horn." received 7 votes, plus 2
<< points for
<< guessing the correct def.

Is this close to some kind of record (9 points)? The number of times I've "won" lately sure is a record for me -- one I would prefer *not* to repeat. <G>

New word shortly . . .

Rule 10. Players may join and leave the game at will.

One way to avoid getting the deal is to sit out a round.

I use the strategy of submitting definitions that nobody votes for.

Aw, but that's not FUN!

Due to a couple of upcoming trips, I will probably be doing just that.

I think I'm a master of the technique, based on my position in the
rolling scores. :)

Only because I've been on holiday. I will soon regain my usual spot. <wg>
