I regularly go to weather.gov to look at my local radar (loop). Opera 9.22 seems much faster displaying the radar loop than Firefox 2.0.0.6

I don't use the latest Java since I run Windows 98 but that should not necessarily make a difference since both browsers are running on same OS and CPU. Actually one of the earlier versions of Sun JRE did run faster in FF. Maybe it was 1.3 or 1.4. I think I have 1.5 and the latest for XP, etc. is 1.6 something.

I'll probably still stick with Firefox until 3.0 comes out and they stop doing security fixes for 2.0.

Opera is supposed to run pretty well on phones , so maybe Opera is still leaner and meaner than FF ?
