Subject: [Coryphaeus] Mucedinous Definitions

I had set the deadline at 5:30 AM PDT today. Due to a non-injury traffic
accident I've been delayed for which I apologize.

Here are 15 definitions, 14 from players and one from Concise Oxford
Dictionary. Select 2 and vote publicly. 30 hours will be 6:00 PM PDT
tomorrow, Monday August 27, 2007.

1. rich in starch

2. (of a coat or jacket) having fringe on the epaulets or lapels

3. unpleasant and irascible.

4. slimy

5. sticky

6. producing an overabundance of mucous

7. relating to the phenomenon of interlocking crystalline forms

8. flagon shaped

9. of or related to slime

10. very stingy

11. having the nature of or resembling mold or mildew

12. [Bot] having a soft shell or covering

13. Having a blocked nose.

14. discharging smoke in clouds

15. Cloven-hoofed

Vote for 2 and enjoy!

went.

12 and 14 -- avoiding the batch of defs which look close enough to be
combined (sigh) ...

I don't believe any of them, but votes to first and last--that's #1 and
#15.

Avoiding anything to do with mucous (no doubt wrongly) I'll go for:

8 and 10 please.

That's certainly an unpleasant set of defs ... or a set of unpleasant defs.

Therefore I'll take number 5, the sum of all unpleasant defs and number 8 since a flagon of ale would go nicely with my lunch.

Wayne: Please see my votes at the end of this message!

<< You might want to post your votes in the Google
group -
<< rather than
<< the Yahoo one - to make sure it gets included in
the
<< results!

Tim:

I simply replied to Wayne's listing of the definitions, not even
noticing that he mistakenly sent it from Yahoo! Groups. <sigh> When
it was reposted on Google, I had already voted and didn't even realize
that Wayne might not have rec'd my votes. <sigh> I guess that's what
happens when you vote too quickly.

I'll send this message to Google Groups and hope that it arrives
safely.

Judy Madnick

Here's my original message:

Wayne:
<< Due to a non-injury traffic accident I've been
<< delayed for which I apologize.

Judy:
<< > No need to apologize. More important -- "non-
injury."
<< > My initial reaction to "mucedinous" was "yuck"!
So I
<< think I'll
<< have to avoid those definitions. <G> I'm probably
best
<< off looking for what seems like the least-likely
definitions
<< (and will probably still be wrong <G>

<< 2. (of a coat or jacket) having fringe on
<< the epaulets or lapels

<< 7. relating to the phenomenon of
<< interlocking crystalline forms
