Gah. Forgot to submit a def.

Well, I did read them all - several times - but only confused myself,
so I'll vote for first and last:

1 and 16 please.

I'll try #7 and #16. (And I guess poor Bob gets a couple of DPs for #3,
eh?)

Strange . . . I never received the definition list in my inbox. Fortunately, I got the early votes so I knew to go to the Web to find the list.

More important . . . I also see that you never received my definition, which was sent at 10:11 a.m. from my gmail account to yours. Did you check your spam folder? Maybe your gmail doesn't like my gmail. <G>

I'll go with the Arab definitions today:

7. [Rel.] one of the pre-Islamic Arab gods; a worshipper of such a god.

14. In Arab countries, a room (originally a tent) in which supplicants
wait for an audience with a ruler.

I'll go for 4 because it describes the dealer!
I'll also try 10 because who knows when one might want to move a punkah.

By the way, what on earth is a punkah?

went.

I'll go with #9 and #13, because 9+13 is 22, and 2+2 is 4, and it was just 4 o'clock a few minutes ago, here in the California desert.

Sigh.

I don't think I'm giving any clues to the meaning of JASERAN by
telling you that a punkah is a large fan made of palm leaves. It's
operated by a punkah wallah who pulls on a cord to make it move. The
aeroplanes I flew in as a navigator had "punkah louvres" - valves
which blew cold air in your face.

Thanks, Tim.
I've seen them in action, but didn't know the name.

I'll toss my votes to a couple that I don't believe for a second, and
apparently no one else believes them either -- neither has a vote until
now..

#5 and #11, please.
