Well, I hope Cory tallied this correctly. <G> No one guessed the "real" definition, although there was one DQ.

In round 1831, 2 players earned top spot with 4 points: Tony Abell and Guerri Stevens. Guerri is ahead in the rolling scores for the last five rounds and will be our next dealer.

Scott Crom takes runner-up position with 3 points.

The true definition was 7: "of, like, or pertaining to tanning leather" (Forthright's Phrontistery -- and other sources on the Web), which no one guessed. There was, however, one DQ.

1. [bot.] exuding sap
Vote from: Hirst
Submitted by: Bourne, who scores natural 1.

2. Merely mechanical; routine
Votes from: Schultz, Shefler
Submitted by: Carson, who scores natural 2.

3. frantic, disturbed, frightened
Vote from: Shepherdson
Submitted by: Scott, who scores natural 1.

4. (of plants) having no chlorophyl.
Vote from: Widdis
Submitted by: Savage, who scores natural 1.

5. one who is consistently discontented.
Votes from: Crom, Scott, Hirst, Abell
Submitted by: Stevens, who scores natural 4.

6. Given to spells or fits of not speaking.
Votes from: Shefler, Shepherdson, Stevens
Submitted by: Crom, who scores natural 3.

7. of, like, or pertaining to tanning leather
No votes
Real definition from Forthright's Phrontistery

8. full of wind; windy; of an egg, malformed.
Votes from: Carson, Abell
Submitted by: Jordan, who scores natural 2.

9. having congenitally deformed fingers or toes
Vote from: Savage
Submitted by: Shefler, who scores natural 1.

10. Becoming more viscous with increasing temperature.
Votes from: Crom, Schultz, Scott, Savage
Submitted by: Abell, who scores natural 4.

11. 1. Having a variety of colors; variegated. 2. Changing in color;
iridescent.
Votes from: Lodge, Stevens
Submitted by: Widdis, who scores natural 2.

12. Having leaves arranged in a spiral around the branch, typically
three or five leaves per rotation.
Vote from: Widdis
Submitted by: Hirst, who scores natural 1.

13. 1. having an alcohol base; astringent. 2. (fig., of courts or
judicial decisions) spare, strictly construed.
Votes from: Carson, Lodge
Submitted by: Schultz, who scores natural 2.

Round 1831 -- scytodepsic - results!Judy,

Congratulations on the D0.

I need to know who was DQ.

And who, if anyone, voted but did not submit a def.

And who, if anyone, got DP.

And your social security number, date of birth and mother's maiden name.

Otherwise, I'm afraid I won't be able to post the rolling scores and flee to Brazil with your bank account.

Mike

I guess I didn't send you a progress report, did I? <sigh>

I wasn't sure whether it was still considered a DO if someone was a DQ (John Barrs). So . . . thanks for your congrats! That's my VERY FIRST DO!

Will this work? (Sorry that it didn't format well.) Lodge got the dealer points in case that's not clear. I think you can see who didn't submit a definition, and the "N/Vs" seem clear, I think.

Judy,

You have Widdis listed twice, once as having 2 points and once as none.

I think 2 is correct, but maybe someone else should be there at the end than
Widdis.

The one with no points voted, and the one with 2 points didn't vote.
Imagine that.

Nope, they're both "Widdis." I had two email addresses for him in Cory and accidentally used one for his definition and the other for his votes. DUH!

Sorry about that. I guess we should have realized that was the case or he might have complained. <G>

Mike, my guess is they are both correct. Judy did not notice that Coryphæus
decided that Dan was two players (because, at a guess, he posted a def from
one email address but voted from another). One of the Dans voted for 4 & 12
but didn't submit a def and got no points. The other Dan submitted a def,
and got points for it, but didn't vote. The reality, of course, was that the
same person submitted the def, and got the points, and voted.

But, yes, they are one and the same.

Again, don't blame Cory -- it was my fault. I have two entries for you in Cory and didn't stop to think that if I were to accidentally use one for a definition and the other for a vote, you would . . . be cloned! IOW, I didn't pay attention to which of you I was choosing. I will immediately remove your "twin."
