Thanks Judy,

He's Having surgery early next month for an aneurysm of the aorta. Today is
our 50th Wedding Anniversary and we are in Colorado. The Dr. said to go ahead
and have a good time with family and friends, but for him to take it easy and
get to the hospital soon after we return to Calif.. His Iliac arteries are
also blocked,so he's not in the best of shape for this trip. I'm so worried
about him right now I can't think straight. I tried to unsubscribe at the group
site, but it hasn't worked, I have so many emails from friends and family I
just can't handle Dix right now.

Congratulations on your 50th!! Our 41st is on June 19th. I guess June is a good month. <G>

Please let us know how the surgery goes. I have an enlarged aortic root and aortic regurgitation (which was found only because I asked for an echocardiagram to rule out another condition), so I may well be a surgical candidate in the future. <sigh>

Instead of unsubscribing, you might want to choose the option to read messages on the Web only so that when you're ready to return, you don't have to resubscribe.

Have a wonderful "special" anniversary . . . and I look forward to hearing good news!

Roberta, the very best for his complete recovery. As a physician, I have sat in on this surgery quite often. It is a major procedure, but with today's wonderful bypass equipment, the mortality rate is very, very low. For the foreseeable future you need to be taking care of your spouse, not playing games.

All my very best for both of you,

Curm, M.D.

You and Guerri are newly weds!
My Marion died 2 years ago, a bit before we would have had our 63rd
anniversary. We had our first date when we were 13 years old and neither of
us ever had a date with anyone else.

Roberta,

My family's best wishes and prayers are with you and your husband. I had the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm surgery in '99 and found it to be quite an easy procedure so hopefully your husband's will be too.

Judy, I'll try doing the Web only thing and see if it works. They found my
husbands aortic problem while checking to see why his legs keep giving out. He
has blockages in the Iliac arteries as well. Things get complicated because
he can't have an MRI because of his pacemaker. and the dye they use in the
angio- gram is dangerous for him because of compromised kidneys. He's taken a
beating but like a Timex keeps on ticking. We are praying everything turns out
ok.

ruptured colon and resection just a couple of years ago. His care will have my full
attention,I assure you , He turned 72 in April and he's not ready to give up
yet.

Roberta, I'm glad to see a young whipper-snapper of 72 who is ready to head off into the future. At 85, I'm making plans for future travel and I have reservations for a couple of cruises and I'm on a waiting list for 2 more. All my working life, my wife took care of me. I wanted more than anything to live long enough to retire and take care of her. We had about 10 years of travel before her gradual slide into Alzheimer's preventer her from travelling. After she died, I have missed her every single day, but I have kept active. You are wonderful! Keep it up, lady. . . I call you lady in the finest sense of the word.

You are a wonderful role model, Wayne. And here I am at 63 complaining about C. diff colitis and heartburn. I'm going to remember your words.
