View Full Version : [Dixonary] Where Are We Now?

Are we switching back to the Coryphaeus group for this round? I ask
because I got two copies of the new word announcement. One came from the
Google group and was properly filtered into my Dixonary folder. The
other came from the Cory group and landed in my Inbox because the
Subject field doesn't contain "Dixonary".

If we are moving back to the Cory group, I (and possibly others) will
have to change our filters.

I saw Guerri's message (which came from GoogleGroups) under the above
heading, but I haven't seen any word announcement from either Google or
Yahoo. It was my understanding that Dan had switch all of us plain e-mail
folks to Google--and that our addresses were killed at Yahoo. I guess I'd
echo Guerri's question, and what are our instructions? Are we supposed to
go sign up somewhere else?

And could somebody please send me a copy of the new word message? (I never
had any trouble with Tim B's messages, IIRC--only Bill's and, I think, one
of John's, and one of Dan's that had been sent differently.)

Haven't seen any post-1804 rolling scores, either; have they been posted?

Hi Dodi,

(sent to your personal address and the group, to make sure you'll get at
least one of them)

Hmmm. Does this mean that you are now missing messages from more players -
or does this mean that you've never had a problem with Bill's messages
because they were Bill's, but because they were thread starters (as Tim's
message is this time)??

Copy of new word posting is below.

>> Haven't seen any post-1804 rolling scores, either; have they been posted?

AFAIK, they haven't been psoted yet.

Best, Hugo

GS> Are we switching back to the Coryphaeus group for this round?

I don't think so.

Tim posted his message to the Dixonary (AT) googlegroups (DOT) com address CC: the
coryphaeus address, presumably to ensure that everybody got it.
Unfortunately, since many ISPs and/or email clients eliminate duplicates,
lots of people only got one copy of the message, from the Coryphaeus group.

Since Paul posted that he had already changed delivery options for many
people on the Cory group, I'm pretty sure we're "stuck" here on the Dixonary
group. At least that's where I plan on playing unless someone tells me
otherwise!

Dodi didn't get my thread-starter for the round either

It looks like maybe one message with a strange word needs to be received by her then she is oK - hmm

I sent my message to both the Google and Yahoo groups. I am pretty sure
that Tim announced the new word in both places too.

The word is POOKA and the deadline is 8 a.m. BST Saturday, 3 a.m. EDT. I
am sending this to you, Dodi, separately direct to your Email address
just in case you don't get it from the group. And I'm sending it to both
Yahoo and Google.

You shouldn't have to restore yourself at the Yahoo group. At least I
don't think so; I am getting messages from there. Still, it might be
worth visiting the group and making sure you really are still there and
with settings that are correct for delivering Email to you.

I got both postings of the new word, one from each group. I've also
gotten a couple of other messages from the Yahoo group, posted in
response to the announcement of the new word. Based on the new extra
junk that Yahoo (apparently) stuffed into those messages, I'm glad we're
not playing there!
