All the submitters having voted, I'm closing the polls a bit
early. We have produced our next dealer, Chris Carson, whose gun
carriage pin (#16), plus two points for the right definition,
earned him 6 points. He thus tied with Mr. Webster, whose real
definition, "A good many" (#17) received 6 natural points. The
real winner was Tony Abell, with 5 points for his curved portion
of an anvil (#4).

It's all yours, Chris!

1. Stone mason's tool to keep an arch in place while its
construction is not yet finished. Elaborately carved hantles
often made to resemble the artisan's "third hand" were
passed from father to son as late as the 16th century, but
since then they have been replaced by more pragmatic forms
of scaffolding.

Even if I hadn't seen this one coming when I tumbled to the correct def I
could have anticipated as worst case. I will post a word very shortly this
evening and hopefully manage this while doing a road trip Friday through
Monday to Estes Park, Colorado. The place we're staying has telephones but
no broadband so I may have to return to the dark ages of dial up to complete
the deal.

New word coming up directly.
