Once again, I have been screwed over by Yahoo. I never received the
email requesting a definition for this word, so I didn't submit one.
Also didn't get the progress email. I thought it had been a while since
I heard from the group, but I was busy...

Anyway, I'll vote for 7 and 9.

We have got to find a new provider. Has anyone heard of pair.com?
Another list I belong to uses their list services. You need to sign up
for web hosting in order to use the list, but then we could have our
own web site! I'll have my husband look into it.

Nancy, I don't think you can blame Yahoo if you didn't get an email that
nearly everyone else did.

I obviously can't tell you for certain how Yahoo's email forwarding works,
but I'm prepared to bet that it sends a single email with all the recipients
in a bcc: list. (Why do I say this? Because I know how programmers think. I
am one.) If I got the email, then it was sent. If it was sent, and you
didn't get it, then there are two possibilities.

The first possibility is that you were left off the bcc: list. But if that
were the case then there would be a bounce notice that the moderators would
see. There is a broadly accepted view that Yahoo is way too picky about
deciding that someone's address is bouncing, but that is a different issue.
You're not on the list.

The other possibility is that the mail to you is stuck on some mailserver
somewhere. Probably in a spam filter. CompuServe does filter email for spam,
and has been doing so for years, apparently quite aggressively, and I think
it might not be coincidental that you and Dodi both are with the same ISP
and you both complain about not getting mail from the group in the same
week. CIS does have a way to whitelist your senders: you may need to find
out how to do this. It is not a counter-argument that you get email for one
round, and not the next, but again after that. Today many blacklists are
dynamic, so it is quite possible that the spam filter will block email from
Yahoo for two days and then let it through again.

Because Dodi had had problems I emailed LIMOSIS call for defs directly to you 6:31am my time (GMT) yesterday (Tuesday) - so if you
didn't get that either, then the fault is not Yahoo groups. It must be some spam trapper elsewhere - maybe compuserve itself: that
message should never have gone anywhere near yahho because I used my ntlworld address. (the mail was 'To' you and Guerri and she
received it)
