John Barrs is the "real winnah" with 5 points and Kathryn Lance is runner-up with 4 points.

Three of you managed to ferret out the true definition # 12: "A savory snack." (OED 2nd Edition), leaving
me with a D3.

Um -- my reading had Toni voting for 3 and 6 -- not 1 and 2 ... Coryt is fallible?

I knew it was too good to be true. Toni did in fact vote for 3 and 6, not 1 and 2. Cory did fine, it was the dealah who screwed up. When a message contains multiple numbers Cory picks what it thinks is the most likely pair and asks the dealer to confirm. In this case the dealer blew it. So Tony actually takes the deal with a 9 rather than an 8.
