Uh, Chris and Russ, that round closed two days ago!

Yes, but look at the timestamps on their votes!

Chris posted at 13.57 Eastern Time on Thursday 25th; that's
18.57 UTC. His message reached my mailbox at 11 minutes
past midnight this morning!

Russ posted at 06.29 Central Time on Friday 26th, or 12.29
UTC; that message reached my mailbox at seven minutes past
one this morning.

My first posting of the results, posted at 15.21 on Friday,
still hasn't come back to me.

Retrospectively, should I now post revised scores taking
the votes from Chris and Russ into account? Clearly they
were both posted well before the deadline. There was also a
vote from Scott Crom in there this morning, also posted on
Thursday evening, well before the deadline.

Bill Hirst still comes out a clear winner, so the following
round is not affected. For the rolling and cumulative
scores, though, I'll post a set of corrected scores
shortly. I don't think dealer points would be appropriate
on this occasion, since the problem was way outside our
control, but I'm open to persuasion.

Best wishes,

Tim B

According to our consensus opinion, yes. And while that doesn't affect the
current round, it would have the potentail of affecting a tiebreaker in a
later round.

These appear to be from the Yahoo database crash timeframe. I got a
3-day-old message in another group as well.

Yes Dodi and those messages were sent two plus days ago, at least mine was. Chalk it up to Yahoo's problems of the last few days.

I don't think dealer points are appropriate either. The glitch was obviously the Yahoo group mail problem that has been plaguing all the Yahoo groups for the last few days. At least I know that the cause was external so I won't need to start restoring the OS and software.

Well, it appears my votes were counted -- I guess. <G> I'm not going to worry about it now. It will take too much time to check the Web -- and having just returned from vacation, I have laundry, laundry . . . and more laundry to occupy my time. Oh, yes -- and food shopping.

Thanks for your reply, Tim.
