Don't know how this will appear to you, Judy, but it goes along with
Dodi's comment. What is happening, at least as I am seeing it, is that
you use a quoteback in your reply and what you have to say gets added
to the end of the quoteback. In this case your "thanks" gets tacked on
to the quoteback and looks like it was part of it.

This is not new, and I don't recall whether I've seen it from anyone
else. Is it possible that something in the software ignores a single
hard return (enter) and/or thinks it is helping you by rewrapping the
lines of text?

Right -- it isn't new; and it's a function of the difference between plain email and the full featured bulletin board software. On the bulletin board, leaving spaces is ugly and unnecessary since the quote is offset, indented and color coded. But in plain email the spacing is needed. We can probably address this by turning off the full features for the one bulletin board forum used for the email gateway, though that would make it a bit harder for those who play the game from the forum.
