Yes one does see - in web view - that all zeros are replace with
lowercase-o --as soon as you get to 'reply' (this is were I am at the
moment, in the reply screenlet) then the reply goes into plain text
and the characters are rendered correctly, so it is some yahoo display
gloop

what I wonder is what happens to repeated zeros and other
numbers..like "the time is 1200"

or as an experiment

here is your invoice
Item 1... 120.00
Item 2...1000.12
Packaging. 10.11
===================
Total 1130.33
===================

I just went to the group and I notice that in reading your message, the
subject line correctly has D zero. I mean the larger subject at the top
above the message itself ins1de the box. Inside the box, the "Re:" line
has D oh.

I can't tell about the numbers in your item list because the zeros in
them look the same as the letter o. I am now wondering whether it is the
display font that is being used. You can see in your list of items that
all of the numbers are small, the size of lowercase letters as far as I
can tell. So in reality, Yahoo probably is really displaying D zero, and
not converting the zero to a letter o for some unknown reason, and it's
just the choice of font that makes the zero look like the letter o.

The larger subject title is in a different font, Arial perhaps, which
has taller numbers and thus looks OK.

It has been a long time since I visited the group and I think they have
changed some other things as well, probably to make the messages more
like conversations. I can't remember exactly what I did, but I thought
in the olden days you would get a list of messages between X and Y and
see them all. I don't know what would have happened if you clicked on
one but now it looks like you then get the messages for that topic. My
display just changed to a poll, whether I inadvertently hit some key by
mistake, or automatically and I don't want to fool with this any longer,
I want to eat breakfast!
