I notice that on the Yahoo Group website D0 (DELTA ZERO) comes out as
Do (DELTA lower-case-OSCAR). It displays OK in the email summary and
on the TAPCIS website. It's not important, but does anyone know why?

That's weird. I just looked and confirm that I see Do not D0. It appears
the same whether I view messages with or without signing in.

I wonder if this is part of the new and "improved" features that were
introduced not long ago? I wonder why Emails delivered by the group are
OK even though the message in the group itself is not? What happens if I
write d0nate or D0nate or D0NATE where the second character is a zero?
Or if I write D0xyz or d0xyz? Is there any difference if a message is
posted directly to the group rather than sent by Email or posted in
tapcis.com?

Tim, it's the font. The group uses a font called Georgia which has what the
printers call old-style figures.

New-style figures (also called lining figures or ranging figures) are all
the same width (about an em) and height (generally about the same as a
capital letter).

Old-style figures are like lowercase letters in that they are not all the
same width (1 is generally narrower than 9, though modern fonts tend not to
do this because it makes tabular matter look ugly), or height: they have
ascenders like t and d (6 and 8 extend above the 2) and they have descenders
like g and y (4, 5, 7 and 9 extend below the baseline). And zero is the same
height as 1 and 2.

Some fonts come with both old and new-style figures.

I like the font, but then I have a weakness for old-style figures. I think
it comes standard with Windows. I didn't choose it for the group though: I
don't think the font is configurable, only the colours are.
