Here are 19 definitions of BREHON for your voting pleasure.

Please cast your two votes for those which most tickle your
fancy by public response to this message.

The deadline is approximately 36 hours from now, i.e., 0800
hours, 8:00 a.m., Eastern time, Saturday morning, December 9.

1. One of a class of lawyers in ancient Ireland, a jurist and
referee without power to enforce his decisions. He had free
lands and professional fees. The brehon must first attain
the degree of ollamh. The position was very influential and
often hereditary.

2. Generic term for the secret oaths of the Irish brotherhood
lodges in the mining camps of central USA in the late 19th C
(see also "brehonic law"--applied usually to oathbreakers).

3. A postulated early ancestor of the wolf, hypothesized from
fossil fragments, having a large, ape-like brow ridge. [OE
_bhru_, brow + _hund_, hound].

Gosh, there are so many that I don't even understand! I think I'll go with simple definitions:

4 and 11, please... sounds Irish, but probly only because it sounds like Brendhan...

I'll vote for the only ones that seem the least bit convincing (meaning they must
be wrong): 1 and 2.

I don't believe any of them, and think you left the real one out.... but
I disbelieve #1 and #6 the least.
