Of course I also use a calculator, Judy--but I've never thrown out my
original wooden Keuffel & Esser. I expect to see one turning up on
"Antiques Road Show" any day now. ;-)

There was an article recently in Scientific American about the rise and fall
of slide rules (which, reviewing www.sciam.com I cannot now track down).
Hang on to your Keuffel & Esser. It might turn out to be valuable. Antiques
Roadshow or not.
