Hm. That's good to know. I'll encourage my consult to ponder further.

Ah, I'm familiar with the site, though I haven't been back there lately. I
think the guy's name is Mendelsohn or something like that, IIRC; he used to
hang out in the WP forum on CIS--the old CIS, that is.

Dodi, regarding WP5.1: there was another guy on the old WPUSERS forum
who worked in a law office. He posted a message once saying that they
had several word processors in the office running various versions of
WordPerfect and possible MS Word as well. A new person came in, and he
showed her all the stuff and left her to decide on her own which she
would prefer. When he returned to check on her, she had selected (tada)
WP 5.1 for DOS. Said it was faster and easier to deal with!

I have gotten used to the Windows way of doing things and after awhile
the DOS version of WP (I used 6.2) started to annoy me. But now that
I've got it printing, I may give it another try. I think it's possible
to set a keyboard (something you don't have in 5.1) to simulate some of
the Windows keys. It already uses Ctrl+C, +V, and +X for copy, paste,
and cut.

Yes, you can choose the DOS keyboard (which I have done!):

Tools | Settings | Customize | Keyboards | and there are options for WPDOS 5.1 and 6.1 keyboards. I have *never* used a Windows keyboard in WordPerfect!!

CTRL+C, etc., work in most Windows programs.

Dodi-

Weighing in a little late: XP is far superior to Win 98. With the earlier
program I crashed all the time; now I literally never do, though some
individual programs crash occasionally.

Re Firefox, for whoever it was that doesn't like it: once you get used to
the tabs you will wonder how you ever got along without them. Plus there are
great extensions with FF that customize your browsing, including "themes"
that change the appearance of your browser. Of course, I'm a person who just
loves fun things on the computer. (My computer starts up with Darth Vader
asking, "How may I serve you, my Master?" and ends with a mouse screaming.)
