View Full Version : [Dixonary] Round 1617 HAKSPEK - Defs up!

#19 is either an intrusion into the game by that Korean spammer who's been
showing up in e-mail lately, or a thinly disguised early promo for the
second season of "Numb3rs".

In any event, I'll vote for #3 and #7.

P.S.: Could players PLEASE remember to sign their messages? Here at the
Yahoo e-mail group, we have to scroll down through reams of routing garbage
to find the sender if there's no indication at the end of the message!
Thanks.

Judy, it worked, but I'm still confused. In my Email I get copies of
the replies (I guess from Coryphaeus). If I did not get them I'd never
know what's going on.

So I go to Cory and have lots of trouble finding things. The page that
appears never shows me the latest messages. I finally figured out I had
to click on last, and then click on sort by Date (I did so previously
but it did not stick).

Then I clicked on Expanded and Thread. I got a thread that was not what
I want and could not figure out how to find the other threads. So I
went back to Msg List. It's just all too complicated.

So then I look at Tapcis and some messages appear and some do not.

What to do, what to do? There must be a better way.

It sounds as though you *are* getting copies of all the Cory postings via email, which is how Yahoo! Groups work if you choose "email" as your method of reading messages. Unless I haven't saved a message from Cory that I rec'd via email, I almost never go to Yahoo! Groups on the Web to read Cory messages. If you're getting "copies of the replies," you can simply reply to the message in order to respond publicly (e.g., when you vote). In my email program, if I "Reply to All" and delete the Cory address from the "to" field, I'm left with the sender's address . . . and I use that to provide my daffy-nition privately.

Have I confused you more?

"Have I confused you more?"

That would be hard to do, Judy.

But, it's good to know that I can answer the Emails directly.

Now, what about the Tapcis website? Do you know why the messages don't
show up there?

Cool!

I haven't been using the Tapcis site but had the impression that they *were* showing up. I'm sure someone else will address that.

I admit I haven't looked at the TAPCIS website for the Dixonary
messages. However, you don't say where you go there. The messages should
appear in the Parlor forum/section on the website. Is that where you looked?

Hi Fran,

They should, albeit with some delay.

In some cases, a reply to a message will show up as a new thread on the
Tapcis website. The reason is that some mail programs don't retain the
"reply-to-message" information.

In rare cases, a new thread will show up as a reply in a completely
unreltaed thread on the Tapcis website. That's a result of malfunction
between the monitor and the chair.

Hugh, it's beginning to make a little sense now. I guess they will
eventually show up and I wondered why there was more than one thread for
a subject when it seemed like it should be one thread.

Thanks for the advice.
