Is there a new players' list that I can use now that I have successfully installed Cory? I have an update from some time ago but wonder whether there have been some additions/corrections to that.

Also, the last round I show is 1551. Do the "rounds" get updated at some point?

Thanks!

Judy

There isn't a list of players that comes with Coryphæus. But it updates the
list from the input when you feed it defs and votes. If your list is old you
will get the familiar pestering messages about "are these two players the
same person or different people?"

There are quite a few things about the program that show its age. One of
them is that it deliberately doesn't check on the internet for updates to
the player list or the new word list. Programs were just beginning to do
that when I was writing it, and I was very sure that Coryphæus should not be
one of them, because at the time it was a habit both expensive and injurious
to health. (Imagine my reaction when I got the first phone bill for my new
ISDN line, only to find that Media Player had been calling home every hour,
24 hours a day, for a month, to find out if there were a new version of
itself.)

If you recall, I updated my players' list at one time . . . and sent it to you. I gather from your reply that that list wasn't incorporated into a new version of Cory. IOW, when I recently downloaded the three ZIP files, there was an old, long players' list included. I replaced that with the players' list I last used. (Yes, I even had THAT backed up!!)

Okeydoke! Now I know "the rest of the story"! Thanks for your reply!
