The correct def. was #18, fresh out of the 1913 edition of Webster's.
I'm shocked that more of you didn't remember that. Ms Schultz, Ms
Savage, and Mr. Barrs have a 6, with Toni Savage and Johnny Barrs
having guessed the correct def. I don't remember which of those is a
natural 6 and which is an unnatural 6, or which one actually "wins" the
next deal. I'll leave that up to whoever is more familiar with the
rules. If I've made any errors in the following, I humbly apologize in
advance, but I'm off to the airport shortly to fly to Boston to provide
multiple guffaws to an audience of new IBMers, so you will have to
solve them all yourselves. Sorry to leave you with more questions than
answers, but, hey, God didn't do any better.

1. A rose-red dye similar in colour to eosin but chemically quite
different,derived from fossilized sea snails of the extinct genus
metamurex (Tyrian purple is made from members of the modern day genus
murex)

This is what I wrote:

It gives Dave Cunningham one extra point and gives me two for
guessing the correct def. I don't think it affects the choice of
new dealer.
