Johnny,

Maybe if you put it in a box (to solve the problem with leading spaces):

\begin{verbatim}

<code>
<pre>
\keep

+-------------------------+

D
D * * * D
* o ^ o ^ o ^ o *
^o * o * o * o * o^
| \ \ \ \|/ / / / |
\^o^*^o^*^o^/
\o_o_o_o/

+-------------------------+

\pard
</pre>
</code>

\end{verbatim}

After mumbling all those magic incantations in the hope that for everybody
there will be at least one pair that does the trick, formatting it in fixed
font, i'll have to add just one more to satisfy Outlook's outré tastes :)

That worked fine - a hatbox for a crown - just hope people remember to take it out it before they start wearing it!

Looking at it at the tabcis.com website now.

Interesting to know that the (left square bracket)CODE(right square bracket)
...stuff... (left square bracket)/CODE(right square bracket) as posted from the mailing list (where it has no special significance) still triggered the "code" display (fixed font set off on a lightblue field) here on the web!
