Oh. I didn't SEE any "special character," Dan; what I did see, and I
thought it exceeding odd, was an underscore, thus: "zo_cium". Evidently the
character wasn't one of the Latin 1 set but something offbeat. What WAS it?
Just curious.

According to Dan, it was the ligature oe (that's o and e combined into one
character). However, it didn't show up in my mail as that either. For me, it
showed up as a plain o character: "zoocium".
