Dan, you seem to understand this matter of late-arriving votes better than
some others. Why is it that, while various postings have been distributed
late, Guerri's messages seem to get delayed more often and far longer than
others'? Is there something special about them? Perhaps that she has a
tapcis.com e-mail address? (She's the only one who does.)

I've noticed the problem occuring most often along pipelines that are
overloaded, such as between large ISPs. Previously the problem affected
many of us who used Google mail (gmail.com).

I do not know what larger entity is hosting tapcis.com or what route the
mail has to travel, so I can't really explain why it favors (or disfavors)
certain people. I just know I've dealt with delays on yahoogroups for over
4 years now, and it hasn't gotten much better.

Dodi, Chris's message was delayed about the same amount as mine, this
time anyway, and he doesn't have a tapcis.com address. And of course, my
messages are all "special" <g>!

I'd have no argument with that change of policy, but it would
perhaps place a further burden on dealers. I took the date and time
of Guerri's posting from the message listing on the Yahoo website.
I just didn't notice that it had in fact been sent much earlier.

Guerri

Chris noticed that his voting message had not appeared on the website,
so he sent another message, which _did_ appear quite quickly. I had
therefore counted his votes before the deadline. His original message
appeared after yours.

I guess in the future I should be careful to notice whether or not my
vote appears in a timely manner. Probably I would usually notice, but my
mind was on other matters. I don't think my vote changes my own results
for the round, but it would affect the points received by others.

I didn't notice that Chris did have a voting message appear in time. I
only noticed the votes from him that appeared after mine, apparently
caught in the same time warp or whatever quirk happened on Yahoo.
