Just a small point of criticism. I'm using the mailing list. If i were to
mindlessly "reply", i would set myself up for a crown. Digging through the
internet headers i managed to find your email address (which i knew at any
rate) and emailed a def, but it might be a good idea to *mention* the
address to send defs to, in the body of the message calling for defs.

We already used to do that in the old CompuServe forum, in all cases where a
simple reply by CIS MAIL wouldn't work. Most of us don't access this group
by email with Tap as email program, and the safest assumption for every
dealer, however they post, is that there are going to be some players who
need to be told the dealer's address explicitely.

Automated spam address harvesters are easily foiled with a circumlocution
along the lines of, in your case, "my surname (at) compuserve.com".

Come to think of it, ISTR the list's machinery does something clever
cloaking email addresses already, even those in the body of a post. Let's do
a little test with a fake email.

The address of the emperor of China is <emperor (AT) forbiddencity (DOT) gov.cn>
The address of the emperor of China is emperor (AT) forbiddencity (DOT) gov.cn
The address of the emperor of China is emperor (at) forbiddencity.gov.cn

How do people see that on the *web* view of the Yahoo! forum? (I'm assuming
people reading it on the *mail*ing list see it in full but that's okay,
they're all real human subscribers). OTOH, how does it appear on the web
view of www.tapcis.com?

In reporting back don't quote back what you see, folks, because then it goes
*twice* through the sausage machine. Just say it in words. What i posted is

(first line) address between angular brackets
(second line) address, unadorned
(third line) address with the at symbol replaced by " (at) "

Since threads are getting broken right and left, I'm not sure if anyone has answered, but... every single at-sign got replaced with (at) and every period with (DOT) *except* the periods where you put in the (at). Those stayed.

You're the first. In this view, at least. Thanks.
