Dick Toll seems to think I posted my message on the tapcis.com forum.

As I've said, I don't post on the tapcis.com forum; I'm using the Yahoo
group listserv. My e-mail address should be in the Internet routing text of
this message. ISN'T it?

I don't know, or care, where you posted the word. Isn't that the point of all the gateways ... to move traffic back and forth between various venues seamlessly, or relatively seamlessly :)

What internet headers?? ... I know they existed at some point, but it appears that tapcis.com strips them off (just like the old CIS forum software stripped off POP headers on forum postings). I have not changed any of the default settings in tapcis.com so I might have missed an option that must be set to effectively play Dixonary in tapcis.com :(

Since you are not a member (an unregistered guest) in tapcis.com, I can't retrieve your email address from the member database/list. I could only retrieve it for forwarding the definition from the text/body of the message posting the word :(

Alas, one minor quibble, your latest reply did not thread to the parent message in the Tapcis.com Parlor :(

One last thought, an email address in the posting text makes it clear where the dealer wants the definitions sent. Personally, I have a number of valid email addresses and some get checked more often than others. Also, some email accounts get a high volume of messages and it would be terrible for a definition to get lost among all the other unrelated messages. Personally, if I was the dealer, I would consider having the defintions sent to one of my low-volume email accounts.

Dick

The corypaeus/yahoo listserver sends the 'from' as (pasted from your contribution)

>>coryphaeus (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) com; on behalf of; Dick Toll [rtoll (AT) uoguelph (DOT) ca]<<

So that is where the 'posters' info is.

What happens with the interaction between web tapcis.com and cory listserver in either direction is a problem that may need
resolving if it isn't succeeding in sending the addresses

but most of us try to play the game by email - which means using the cory listserver and I have not yet not received an email
without a header like the above clearly telling me who is the originator
