I wanted to be guerri (AT) yahoo (DOT) com and that name was taken too. I tried to
find out about it by sending a message to Yahoo, but there was no response.

Guerri

Well yes, i wasn't too surprised "marijke" was taken. It's a name. There are
other people with that name (quite a few in fact). I expects the same holds
for "guerri", although i have to admit never having seen it elsewhere.

But "dixomatic" being taken really threw me! It's not a name, it's a word i
made up myself. At first i thought a fellow player (using the program) chose
it as their Yahoo! name, but no "dixomatic" is a member of the group. It
must be this Finnish outfit, the only people in the world to show up on
Google with web pages containing the word. It bugs me i can't read Finnish
and don't know what they're doing with the word <g>. Anybody know someone
who reads Finnish?

Next time i write a program i'll do a Google search *first* for my choice of
name. Expect a release of xzqegwwwyy#zwe!%rxe soon <g>.

I hope I did this right. I actually looked up Guerri with Google. I did it because I'd read one of those articles about avoiding spam and they suggested trying to find your Email address. There were a lot of Guerris, but I don't remember whether the names were first names (what we used to call given names) or last names (what we used to call surnames). As I recall, many of them were Italian. I've always thought my name was French (some of my ancestors were French).

Guerri (see if this message, from TAPCIS.COM, has a double signature)

I think i subconsciously assumed French or Spanish. I suppose as a surname
it could be Italian too. BTW i didn't assume you yourself were French or
Spanish, you always sounded like a native speaker of English.

I take it then "Guerri" is not short for anything, in your case?

FWIW there are oodles, scads, and teeming droves of Marijke's on the web
(and yes that apostrophed plural is correct in Dutch <g>). I used to pride
myself on being *the* marijke (AT) best (DOT) com (given up long ago),
marijke (AT) compuserve (DOT) com (soon to go), etc. etc. Just being around at the
right time, enthusiastic about the 'net when it was relatively unknown. I'm
still marijke@ some places.

That's what it looks like here (followed by the usual Yahoo! links).
