Judy,

Bush believed what his Schactmanian and Straussian handlers told him was "reality." And since they have had a long running feud with the RealPolitiks in Republican administrations going back to Tricky Dick, they didn't listen to anyone outside of their arcane little neocon group about what was truly going on in Iraq.

Sigh... Bush really believed there would be "no internecine warfare" in Iraq after the overthrow of Saddam???Or he wanted to believe it. Or he wanted those who were party to the memo to think he believed it.

Or he really believed it. Which is worse? <g>

Frankly, it's hard to decide whether it would be worse to be led by a man who knows he's wrong but wants others to believe him, or one who doesn't know what the truth is...

Sigh...

In either case you're talking about delusional if not intellectually dishonest thinking and that can't be good for the body politic.
