Tired of hearing other folks' ringtones and converstions in places that are supposed to be quiet, like movie theaters, libraries and churches? NaturalNano has figured a way to put copper particles into nanotubes, which are then mixed into paint. Since it's a passive shield, it seems to be legal, unlike some of the powered phone jammers.

Of course, the cell phone companies don't like it one bit.

Apparently Electromagnetic Pulse Bombs (conventional, non-nuclear) can be manufactured cheaply with 1940's level technology:

http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchronicles/kopp/apjemp.html

And the much increased use of twisted pair wire in LAN's has made business and government computers much more vulnerable to attack.

Nevertheless, I wonder if this type of paint might help harden sites when used in conjunction with proper hardening of LAN's and power supplies, etc.? Solar storms on the scale of the one in 1859 (caused significant damage to nascent telegraph system in USA) can't be ruled out either.

David,

Well, since we are at the end cycle of low solar storm activity and the next burst is expected next year and the prognosis is that it will be 30 to 40 percent stronger than the last cycle, perhaps we need to look at something other than cell phones for the next decade!

Well, if a big storm hits while I'm still here, I hope my computers are in the earth's shadow during the peak.
