I'm getting VERY weird timing on messages. I *just*
got one of the votes in the last round! If this
continues, I'm not sure I'll get everyone's def, so if
you have submitted and your name isn't here, please
resubmit. I will acknowledge ALL defs I receive when I
get them.

Does that imply that you sent an acknowledgement to me? - if so, I never received one

I'm still not sure this hand will be scoreable by me.
I *JUST THIS MORNING* received some votes from the
previous round send WEDNESDAY.

I do seem to be getting direct emails OK, so the defs
will go up OK (I'll check the main board)

But scoring may miss a lot, unless delivery gets
better (the other group I belong to is also delaying.)

About the time I last dealt was a dreadful time for me for delivery - I did quite a bit of research and apparently what yahoo groups
does when it sends lists is send out to your ISP and if they don't receive an 'acknowledge' from the ISP in 0.45 seconds they
software 'bounce' you... Two bounces means that you are 'stopped' for a while and you have to unblock the soft bounce. Ordinary
mail allows an 'acknowldege-response' time of about 1.7 seconds so that rarely bounces. I had to log in to the yahoogroup and look
to see the stuff.

Longer term I resolved the 'problem' by creating a yahooemail address which I only use to play this game - of course, it also solved
the delivery problem on a couple of other yahoogroups that I use. So far I have received nothing else at all from that email account
except genuine posts within the 3 groups to which I belong

Toni, like Johnny I have been "blocked" by the Yahoo group. When it
happened, I got some sort of message, I think when I tried to *post* to
the group, but I really don't recall exactly. To be on the safe side, I
recommend that you visit the group directly and check to see whether you
have been blocked. I forget the details of doing this. You may have to
go into your options and look there. Maybe someone else will remember
more about this.

Right now the only members of the Yahoo group that are bouncing are hard
bounces (address no longer exists). This is about members that have asked to
receive messages by email but the email bounces (which is what Johnny was
talking about). It isn't about members posting to the group by email from
outside.

There's no evidence within the group that you have been "blocked", at least,
nothing that is available to moderators. It would be helpful to know what
the message you got was, and who sent it.

I think the one from Wednesday was from another group,
but I just got Tim Lodge's message this afternoon
sometime after 5pm. He sent it last night around 9
