OR, if you'd rather have them in plaintext e-mail instead of going to a
Website, just ask.

Please refresh my memory: the .txt files are plain text, and as I
recall, the .dix files are in some other format (database?). From the
name of the ZIP file, I assume that only the .dix format files are included.

That was always an option but when I asked for names, no-one expressed interest - the offer is still open

The DIX files are actually plain text - and always were as far as I know... The TXT files have appeared because people asked for
them - all I did was modify my program to copy the DIX files to TXT after producing the DIX and then I posted both extensions

Some software (eg dixomat - although I am sure it would be easy to amend that) requires them as DIX

The current ZIP file contains all 4 (2 * DIX and 2 * TXT)

Anything else anyone wants I can probably produce, csv, xls, mdb - almost anything (and also see Paul's database in Yahoogroup )

The .dix and .txt files are identical. The .dix extension is traditional.
Browsers don't recognize it, so they will download, rather than displaying
the file in a browser window. Browsers recognize .txt so they will display
the file in your browser unless you ask for it to be downloaded.

In addition to what Paul said

If on your machine you set a program to read dix files then they will be read in your browser too

So,,, click on a dix file, when the dialog as to what to open it with comes up when you choose your progrm (I use notepad) then
check the checkbox -always use this program for these files

Then whenever you try to open a .dix it will always use (notepad) and so willl alos read them in your browser

However, there are people who don't want to make the associations which is why I now provide the txt files too
