Sorry for the delay in getting the definitions ready.

Here are 18 highly plausible definitions of numdah, one of which comes
from an accepted dictionary. Please vote for two in a public message
to this board/list, preferably as a response to this message. You may
vote even if you did not submit a definition.

Good luck!

1. A small fishing boat of the River Nile.

2. [Hindi] Three-wheeled pedal cart used to deliver lunch boxes.

3. A band of armed robbers.

4. A flat circular Indian bread somewhat thicker than a poppadom.

5. Pottery or porcelain having a metallic sheen produced when metallic oxides
are added to the glaze.

6. Lively bouncy dance for two persons.

7. A howdah with armor plating, for use in time of war.

8. A conical hat worn by the elephant handlers of the Maharajah of Jaipur.

9. A houseboat having sails and sometimes an engine, used on the Nile.

10. An expression of surprise.

11. An embroidered rug made from a coarse Indian felt.

12. [Hind.] A well or spring.

13. A crust formed on desert sand by repeated cycles of frost and thaw.

14. In Afro-Jamaican folklore, the malevolent spirit of a deceased rival.

15. A long low boat with a shallow draft, propelled by a pole, found mainly in
North Africa.

16. An early raised reading-desk or pulpit.

17. [Arab.] A tent-flap.

18. A small planquin carried by two bearers.

It has been brought to my attention that I didn't mention the deadline

which is longer than 36 hours from posting the defs, but it's about
the best I can do under the circumstances.
