Wayne, as both Tony and I have observed, he also had a score of 6 (while
Chris and Mike had scores of 5 each). HE's the next dealer, and he's
confirmed that he'll be dealing.

Thank goodness! I went to bed last night thinking I was going to wake up dealer and was then relieved to note I had been edged by a point. When I saw Judy's message, I checked based on Wayne's calculation and noted that Mike was ahead in the rolling scores but I'm glad that those considerations are now moot thanks to Tony's corrected scoring.
Judy, if you see this, best wishes and prayers for you, your mother and your family. It always tough when situations like this occur and doubly so when they happen over holidays.

<< Judy, somehow we'll get this fixed without your having to deal.
<< It's my great hope that as a wonderful Christmas present for you and
<< your Mom (and all of us as well) that she will get over this tiny

<< a rather minor one.
<< Best wishes to your whole family!
Thanks, Wayne. The truth is, Mom has a lot more going on healthwise, the most serious being congestive heart failure (80 mg Lasix morning and night) and aspiration pneumonia on a regular basis due to her swallowing problems. She wants to die peacefully and pain-free. We'll see . . .

Thanks, Chris. To be honest, checking email and accomplishing a few things on the computer have been a good distraction for me.

Best wishes, Judy. We went through this just over a year ago when Dad had his final
illness, so I know what you're going through; my prayers are with you.

Thanks, Tim. Today Mom's breathing seemed to be more labored. I'm glad we hired a private aide, as I don't think Mom would be able to find the call button if she needs something. <sigh>

Yes, I'm afraid it gets tough. For the last few weeks my brother and I took turns to be in
the house with Dad the whole time, checking every half hour or so. We were lucky that he
lived in an area with good support services, and had carers visiting 3 times a day to help
with routine care. When necessary a nurse called in too. Even so, we were exhausted by the
end.

It sure is tiring. <sigh> Fortunately (or unfortunately) Mom is currently in a nursing home, and we hired a private aide 12 hours per day when she chose to stop her meds. We'll see what the next few days bring -- as you can imagine, the aide is expensive, but we can't physically do what she's doing, especially with Stu's recent hand surgery and my elbow still recuperating from surgery!
Did you ever notice that everything happens at once? <sigh>
