How strange, Johnny. I never heard of an ISP terminating a customer's
account because the customer had received a lot of spam.

I can imagine! I find the two dozen or so that have been coming in daily
for the past week or so (well above average) annoying enough!

Spammers don't discriminate among recipients. They send out this stuff by
the thousands, to wholesale lists. They don't care who or what you are. I
am not now and never have been male, I'm not overweight, I don't have a
mortgage or any debts, I pay somebody else to handle my investments, I
don't wear a watch--and I still get scads of offers of bargains on hot
babes and erectile dysfunction remedies along with the low-rate mortgage
refinancing, cheap imitation Rolexes, stock tips, guaranteed weight-loss
nostrums, etc. As I noted earlier, the focus the past few days appears to
be on the watches and the ED drugs.
CompuServe DOES kill a great deal more spam than ever gets through. I
forward it all to their spam department.
