backing up my daily work with TAPCIS (yes, still 100s of emails per day), i use CISs own software (CIM 4.02) as a backup, or whenever i cannot use TAPCIS being on a permanent WWW connection.

worked fine for ... years? ages? aeons?

system must be set up properly: i get the 'COMPUSERVE powered by NETSCAPE' opening screen, with all the news and adverts on it. clicking onto MAIL from there, i get to see/read/delete/answer my mails incl attachments, etc, again, all fine.

back to the CIS opening screen, and a click on any of those news items: ERROR, you are not authorized or you are using the wrong software etc etc.

i think most of you know that screen, tells you to check you virtual key setups, setup info, passwords and so on.

advises you to GO MEMBERS is problems persist: great suggestion, if one does that, it comes back after a flicker to the very same screen. over and over.

am i the only one experiencing this? or the only one still using 4.02 occasionally?

and: where to turn?

greetings - heinz -

PS: the virtual key test page works fine, no problems there.

Are you talking about CS2000 mail or Classic mail? The web link you cite sounds like the one for CS2000 mail.
There has been a (hardware? software?) problem with the SQL server on which Classic mail is stored; presumably it is fixed by now.

gary, could i use TAPCIS with CS2000? would my CIM 4.02 work with CS2000?

PS: here a link to the error page that shows up. somehow i can only get it for the german version, but most of you will recognize that page, in its english version, just by looks and same layout:

hope this works ...
