Would anyone here know how I can put an ico file on a website in such a way that someone could download it? I tried
http://ourworld.cs.com/yankeeharp6/peace5.ico and it just came out on the screen as gibberish.

Post it as a BMP file with instructions to rename it after downloading.

I'm not sure the formats are identical, but it seems to work (http://groups.google.com/group/comp.graphics.misc/browse_thread/thread/e09f78148ea8112a/ee8315096546714a?q=ico&rnum=1#ee8315096546714a).
