I think I may have stumbled on a way to help lots of us with slow or
nonexistent message deliveries, who don't want to have to keep visiting
the website. Apparently this has been in place since 2004 but I didn't
know about it!
Yahoo groups, including the Coryphaeus group, are available by RSS feed.
This means if you have an RSS newsreading capable client then you can
simply subscribe to the feed:
http://rss.groups.yahoo.com/group/coryphaeus/rss
You'll be able to see all the messages on the board. Since this feed
comes directly from the yahoogroups website, there are no delays in
email delivery. As soon as the message appears on yahoogroups.com, it
will be in the RSS feed. (The feed is essentially the HTML page that
you'd see reading it on the website.)
My email client, Mozilla Thunderbird, has a built-in RSS reader. There
are add-ins for most popular mail clients, browsers, instant messaging
programs, and stand-alone RSS readers. If you want specific
recommendations, feel free to ask.
