Interestingly, when I looked up RAS after I'd voted, I found the def

headland; Abyssinian prince.

Of course, I then remembered the second one from Evelyn Waugh's
wonderful description of his visit to Ethiopia (Abyssinia then, I
suppose) for the Emperor Haile Selassie's coronation in about 1937.
Haile Selassie was Ras Tafari before he became Emperor, hence
Rastafarianism.
