View Full Version : [Dixonary] Help with deleted emails

Perhaps someone can help me with this:

On my laptop, where my third-party email program downloads my Gmail, once
it does so, the emails go to All Mail and/or Trash in my Gmail account. If
I send an email from my laptop and then delete it, I can always go back to
my online Gmail account Sent file and find it.

When I use my phone to read, reply/send, and delete Gmail's in my inbox or
sent file, those messages are gone from my Gmail account forever! Is there
a setting in the Gmail app that I need to change so that doesn't happen?

Thanks!

Judy

On my Gmail app (iphone):
Hamburger Menu > Settings
Click on email address/account on the top line
Click on “when removing messages, I prefer to…”
Change it from “trash” to “archive”

I'll check that, but why don't the deleted messages go to trash?
