Shani Naylor
April 25th, 2018, 04:08 PM
Hi all

It's time to vote for our word TWACK. We have 13 defs straight from your
feverish imaginations, and one from a bona fide dictionary. Please vote for
two each.

1. _slang_ To steal goods from a vehicle in transit.

2. A flat wood, plywood, or similar type member used as a connection
at the intersection of wood members.

3. Nodule of metal obtained after assaying.

4. [Old English] A foolish error; more commonly a heresy.

5. To lightly tap swords, as a prelude to a fencing match.

6. To utter copiously.

7. An unsolicited charitable donation.

8. A stick used by Morris dancers in rehearsing, in lieu of a sword.

9. A communications protocol for transaction processing in which each
phase of the transaction is acknowledged twice -from TWice ACKnowledged.

10. A shopper who looks over all the commodities but buys nothing.

11. A long wooden pin designed to hold thatch courses in place on a roof.

12. The secondary diverter on a cotton gin.

13. [onom.] The sound of a timepiece; _tock_.

14. A stopper on a zip wire or other overhead cable preventing the pulley
from reaching the attachment point of the cable.

Please vote by 10pm Friday 27 April (my time) or:

My wasted votes for this round are for 1 and 9 - I don't really believe
either of them is right.

1. _slang_ To steal goods from a vehicle in transit.

9. A communications protocol for transaction processing in which each
phase of the transaction is acknowledged twice -from TWice ACKnowledged.
